Charles J. LaVine, Jr. has over 23 years of Law Enforcement experience and over 15 years as a Firearms and Tactics lnstructor of the New York City Police Department.

He is a highly skilled and motivated professional in all aspects of Law Enforcement and Firearms Training.

He was a primary instructor for the Firearms and Tactics Unit and responsible for running the New York City Police Department Firearms Instructor School since 2003. He has certified well over 200 New York State Department of Criminal Justice Service Firearms lnstructors from different municipalities across New York State.

Charles has trained thousands of recruits and in-service members ranging from basic to advanced training, and has trained newly promoted Supervisors in the use of lethal force.

He is a New York State Department of Criminal Justice Service Master and Firearms Instructor, General Topics Instructor, Evaluator and Master OC Spray Instructor, Taser Instructor, Certified in Counter Terrorism Awareness Critical Incident Response, Dignitary Protection, and Plain Clothes Certification.

He was one of nine Certified Armorers within the New York City Police Departments, certified in Special Weapons and has various certifications with numerous different gun manufacturers.

Charles has conducted all aspects of scenario-based training for Live Fire Simunitions Training, Weapon Retention Close Combat Training and Multi Target.

He has served on the Security Force Protection Team which deployed at all high-profile events such as, Presidential, UN General Assembly, Papal visits, Republican National Convention, Fleet Week, US Open, and New Years Eve at Times Square providing special weapons and support in all VBIED check points.
