Robert Eiler served 22 years with the New York City Police Department and retired in the rank of Sergeant. Among various assignments with the NYPD, he was also an instructor at the Police Academy. Robert was involved in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center during 9/11. Subsequent to this attack, he has gone on to obtain extensive training in the areas of Terrorism & Weapons of Mass Destruction. These courses include but are not limited to: Basic Terrorism Awareness, WMD Technical Emergency Response Training including live nerve agents; WMD Hands- on-Training with live nerve agents; Incident Commands-Capabilities and Planning Response Actions; WMD Radiological/Nuclear Awareness; and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings. Mr. Eiler has also received additional training pertaining to the prevention and response to Active Shooter incidents.

Over the years, he has continued to educate himself and ultimately became a certified Department of Homeland Security instructor for the purpose of helping other first responders and to prepare our communities and nation for future attacks. Robert has trained and conducted seminars for the United States Coast Guard, the City of Elizabeth, NJ school safety officers, State University of New York (SUNY) educational network, and members of the Guardian Angels of New York. He has also been involved in school security training covering campus emergencies and recovery operations.

Robert is the owner/operator of Global Protective Advisers and he has earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Long Island University. Currently, he is the Coordinator for the Criminal Justice Department at SUNY Sullivan County Community College as well as the Emergency Management Program with the Hudson Valley Educational Consortium (HVEC).
