Brian Reilly served in law enforcement with the New York City Police Department for over 22 years, attaining the rank of captain. In addition to performing uniformed patrol, he worked in a variety of fields including investigative, training, emergency management and counterterrorism-related assignments.

His last assignment was as the Counterterrorism Coordinator for the New York City public schools system, overseeing counterterrorism and emergency management measures for approximately 1400 schools. Brian collaborated with Louis Rapoli in implementing a number of counterterrorism programs for New York City schools, including the nationally-accredited ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) tactics course that was tailored to NYPD personnel for response to school attacks. Our unit was also responsible for overseeing and training 4300 school safety agents and 180 police officers in Tactical Combat Casualty Care and the research and acquisition of trauma kits.

Brian is also a volunteer firefighter in his home town in Nassau County, New York, and an emergency medical technician (EMT), and has received a number of certifications related to rescue and trauma care. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Joseph’s College (Brooklyn, NY) in 1993.
